Boosie Badazz has been called out after he used a homophobic slur against Lil Nas X, while he defended DaBaby.
The 38-year-old rapper called Lil Nas X, who came out as gay in 2019, a ‘lil f****t a**’ and a ‘disrespectful motherf***er’, after the Montero star tweeted that he and Jack Harlow decided to perform their new song Industry Baby ‘butt naked at the VMAs for charity’.
While the tweet appeared to be a joke, Boosie fumed about the post while defending DaBaby, who has been widely criticised and has lost endorsement deals due to comments he made at Rolling Loud about people with HIV and AIDS.
Speaking on an Instagram Live, Boosie – real name Torrence Ivy Hatch Jr. – said: ‘Everybody not with their nephew sucking d***. Everybody not with that s***. You just can’t just put that s*** on everybody and expect it to be cool.
‘Nas X say he wanna perform naked onstage for charity. You don’t f*** with him like you f*** with DaBaby. You know, be even-sided, man, be even-sided. You don’t feel that disrespect? Going [to] dance naked? You don’t think that’s disrespect in front of boys who trying to be straight? It’s totally disrespect.’
He went on: ‘If I’m at an awards and he go up there naked, I’ma drag his a** offstage and beat his ass. You let a n***a dance naked in front your children, you a motherf***in’ crazy motherf***er—or you like d*** too.’
Boosie later referred to Lil Nas X as a ‘lil f****t a**’ and “the most disrespectful motherf***er in the world’, and told the 22-year-old to ‘go suck a d*** on IG, n***a, get f***ed in your a**’.
The vile comments were criticised on social media, with one person tweeting: ‘Boosie must got google alerts setup so he never misses an opportunity to hop into some homophobic s***. Presssssssed.’
The Better Believe It rapper previously came under fire for repeatedly misgendering Dwyane Wade’s teenage daughter Zaya, who had come out as transgender.
Months later, Boosie caused outrage when he claimed that he he paid for oral sex for his underage son and nephews.
Lil Nas X jokingly referenced the comments made by Boosie and TI – who also insulted him while defending Da Baby – by sharing a video captioned ‘Lil Nas X responds to Boosie & T.I’ and tweeting: ‘i usually don’t respond to negativity from my peers. but this had to be said.’
However, when fans clicked through to the link, it was the video for his song Industry Baby.
The rapper, real name Montero Hill, has been hit with a lot of homophobic criticism over his last two songs, Montero (Call Me By Your Name) and Industry Baby, which were accompanied by queer videos.
In Industry Baby, he performs a dance in a prison shower block with naked male inmates, while in Montero, Lil Nas X performed a lapdance on Satan.
Addressing the backlash, he tweeted: ‘some of y’all not even mad that i’m gay, some of y’all mad that i’m gay and still succeeding.’
