As Michael McIntyre’s series The Wheel continues, we have to ask – who doesn’t love a good game show?

In the BBC’s The Wheel, both members of the public and celebrities are put to the test as contestants strive to win a whopping amount of money with their wealth of knowledge.

The stars who appear on the show act as experts on certain categories, with the players having to trust their judgement as they share what they think the answers to the questions presented to them may be.

As the show is presented by Michael, there are plenty of laughs mixed into the nerves the contestants must feel as they place themselves on the spot.

So how does The Wheel work and which celebs have been on it before?

How does The Wheel game show work?

On each episode of The Wheel, seven celebrities sit around a giant wheel, each with very specific expertise on a certain subject.

Several contestants are sitting underneath the wheel, with one being randomly selected at a time to rise to the top and try their hand at winning a cash prize.

The contestant chosen to take part selects a category to answer a question on, which they will receive help on from one of the celebrities.

However, they might not be able to receive help from the celebrity who’s an expert on the topic at hand, as it’s completely random who will end up being their helper.

Before the wheel spins, the celebrity expert lights up in gold, while the contestant chooses one star to shut down in red, who they don’t think would be of much help for the question.

If the contestant answers a question correctly with a non-expert celebrity, the cash prize will increase by £3,000, while answering correctly with the expert can bag them £10,000.

However, if they land on the celeb who they shut down in red or if they answer the question wrong, they are taken off the wheel before someone else takes their place.

Once questions have been asked on all seven of the categories, whichever contestant is on the wheel at the time will then have one last question to answer, which, if answered correctly, could result in them walking away with all of the prize money.
