After being left single in tonight’s explosive Casa Amor recoupling, Love Island’s Abigail Rawlings has said she is ‘happy’ for Toby Aromolaran as he chose to pair up with newcomer Mary Bedford.

Towards the end of the episode, we saw presenter Laura Whitmore enter the main villa, with the girls given the choice of either recoupling with one of the new boys, or staying loyal to their current partner.

Prior to Casa Amor, Abigail had been coupled up with Toby, and chose to stick with him, in the hopes he had done the same.

However, viewers had been watching Toby grow closer to Mary while in Casa Amor, and earlier in tonight’s episode, the two shared a kiss.

After Abigail made her declaration, Toby returned to the villa holding hands with Mary.

Although this may not come as a surprise to fans, the islanders in the main villa were shocked by this revelation.

After Laura asked Abigail how she was feeling, she responded: ‘I’ve felt better.’

And on whether or not she thought Toby would bring back someone else, she said: ‘To be honest, it’s fine, it is what it is.’

‘I’m happy for you,’ she then says towards her former partner.

When asked why he chose to recouple with Mary, Toby responded: ‘Going [to] Casa Amor was kind of like a clean slate. With Mary, it’s just from the get go, there was no pressure on the situation.

‘She’s an attractive, beautiful girl, inside and out, so if I wanna come back, I’m gonna bring something back I had with someone else.’

He also said he was ‘shocked’ that Abigail had chosen to remain loyal to him, stating it was only ‘early days’ for them, and assumed she would have recoupled as well.

This marks the fourth romance for Toby since he entered the villa, after also previously being paired with Kaz Kamwi, and later Chloe Burrows.

Elsewhere during the recoupling, both Chloe and Hugo Hammond, who had previously been partnered up, moved on with new partners.

Chloe decided to pair with new boy Dale Mehmet, while Hugo entered the villa with Amy Day.

The rest of the results of the recoupling are yet to be uncovered, but will be aired in tomorrow night’s episode.

Love Island continues tomorrow at 9pm on ITV2.
