The villa was left divided following Hugo Hammond slating Tony Aromolaran’s treatment of Chloe Burrows in Thursday nights recoupling.

Viewers of Friday’s show saw the aftermath of the recoupling, which saw Georgia Townend dumped from the villa as Hugo made the last choice to pick Chloe over her.

Addressing Toby choosing newcomer Abigail Rawlings over Chloe, Hugo said Chloe ‘deserved better’ than the way she was treated by Toby.

The tense scenes continued as Toby branded Hugo ‘two-faced’ following his bombshell speech and the rest of the Islanders split into two camps.

Faye Winter was team Toby, slating Hugo for going about the issue in such a public way rather than speaking to Toby about it.

Chloe, meanwhile, revealed in the beach hut that she appreciated Hugo sticking up for her, adding: ‘What a guy, I’ve never had a friend like that.’

Liam Reardon and Aaron Francis were also firmly team Hugo, with Aaron telling him: ‘He needed to be told. I can happily tell you I’m very proud of you.’

Teddy Soares was more on Toby’s side as he questioned why Hugo hadn’t said any of what he said at the fire pit to Toby’s face prior to the recoupling.

Hugo attempted to clear the air by pulling Toby for a chat after the awkward scenes, but Toby told him that it would be hard for him to forgive and forget what Hugo had said.

Toby told him: ‘That’s not cool bro. I am shocked, that is s**t from you.

‘I’ve asked you your opinions and I am not angry about your opinions. Your opinion is completely valid. The fact is the way you went about it.’

The pair’s relationship appeared to be left in tatters as Hugo asked Toby to come over to him when he was ready to talk about it, to which Toby said he doubted that would happen.

Love Island continues on Sunday from 9pm on ITV2.
