Aaron Francis’s family thanked fans for their support after revealing the disgusting racist messages he has received from trolls.

The Love Island star’s family have been looking after his account while he is in the villa, and shared a message from a troll calling him the N-word among other slurs.

They wrote alongside the screenshot: ‘We’re shocked and frustrated by the racist comments and messages that Aaron has been receiving since the very beginning of his Love Island experience.

‘There has been no end to monkey and gorilla emojis commented on his posts and horrible, abusive, racist messages in his dm’s.

‘This is only only one example of what we have witnessed and we need to call out this intolerable behaviour.’

Aaron, 24, is currently coupled up with Lucinda Strafford in the villa, after she decided to recouple with him instead of Danny Bibby.

His family later shared another post on his Instagram account thanking fans for their support after the vile messages were made public.

They wrote: ‘We’re so overwhelmed and grateful for the support we received today. Racism is ignorance and following the events after the Euros final we would’ve hoped there was already some more awareness.

‘There’s never a tolerable instance for racially charged insults. Hate will never win.’

Ofcom have also recently spoken out to say that they would be monitoring shows like Love Island to make sure they protect their contestants from abuse, with a risk of being taken off air if their response is unsatisfactory.

Love Island bosses also released a statement warning viewers not to send abuse to their contestants after Chloe Burrows received death threats after joining the show.

They told fans: ‘We want Love Island to be a positive experience for all our cast and their friends and family members.

‘Last night’s episode created strong reactions but some viewers’ posts were wholly unacceptable. We take these matters extremely seriously and will support cast members and their families in reporting such posts.

’We would once again urge all our viewers to think before posting, and remember that our Islanders are people with feelings.’
