Rapper Fredo Bang has been arrested in Miami on a fugitive warrant out of Louisiana.
The musician, real name Fredrick Dewon Thomas Givens II, was said to have been booked into the Turner Guildford Knight Correctional Center, after being wanted for an alleged offence committed in Louisiana, where he originally hails from.
It is currently unknown what he has been arrested on suspicion of.
The 25-year-old had been scheduled to perform at the Rolling Loud festival in Miami Gardens on Friday, it is unknown if he will still make an appearance at the event or not.
Givens’ arrest comes one day after one of his fellow rap collaborators, Lit Yoshi, was also arrested in Miami on an out-of-state warrant.
Yoshi, real name Mieyoshi Edwards, is wanted by police on an attempted murder charge in St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana.
Both artists are members of the hip hop collective Top Boy Gorilla, who had been involved in a feud with fellow Louisiana-based rapper YoungBoy, real name Kentrell Gauldren, who is part of the group NBA.
Authorities believe that the feud between the two groups may possibly be linked to the 2019 shooting of Gauldren at the Trump Beach Resort near Miami, in which he was wounded by somebody in a passing car.
Gauldren’s girlfriend was also shot and wounded, and three bystanders also suffered injuries. One stray bullet killed 43-year-old Mohamed Jradi.
A judge in Louisiana had previously ruled in February that evidence of the shooting could be used against Edwards, who at the time was awaiting trial for an attempted murder case in Baton Rouge.
However, it is unknown if either Edwards or Givens were directly involved in the incident, and no charges in connection to the shooting have been filed.
Givens had previously been arrested on charges of attempted second degree murder in 2016, and later served two years in jail for the charge before being released in 2018.
His parole is expected to end in 2023.
As a rapper, Givens released his debut album, Most Hated, in April 2020, and he also released his most recent mixtape, In The Name Of Gee, last September.
