James Corden has been replaced by Romesh Ranganathan on A League of Their Own.
The comic has stepped up to host the 16th series, after The Late Late Show host James left the series.
Romesh, who’s been a regular panellist on the show, is set to join team captains Jamie Redknapp and Freddie Flintoff as he takes over.
He told the Daily Star: ‘I’m over the moon to be taking over the hosting duties and looking forward to being back in the studio with Jamie, Freddie, our guests and the live audience.
‘I’m truly honoured to be the new host of such a successful show. I know Jamie and Freddie are delighted because they often talk about what a hero I am to both of them.’
Jamie Vardy, Olympian Denise Lewis and pundit Micah Richards are among the guests set for next series.
Sky One’s A League Of Their Own began in 2010, with James stepping down in 2019.
Jamie recently told Radio Times that he’s hoping to see him back at some point, explaining: ‘I speak to James a lot and it’s been difficult because of lockdown and obviously he’s doing TV shows in a completely different environment.
‘But he loves the show and he wanted to come back last year but he couldn’t obviously because of Covid and travel. He’s hoping and we’re hoping that he’ll come back.’
The Gavin and Stacey star has been focused on his talk show in the USA, recently hosting guests Ariana Grande, and the cast of Friends.
It came after he also hosted the Friends reunion – with mixed reactions from fans.
James also teased the return of his well-loved segment Carpool Karaoke, after it was put on hiatus during the Covid-19 pandemic.
He said on The Ellen DeGeneres Show: ‘I don’t know really, we wonder when someone will tell us it’s OK,’ he said. ‘I don’t know, I’m hopeful for the end of summer or autumn time that we’ll be able to do it again.
‘It feels like there’s a whole raft of artists that we’re desperate to do it with that have had the most incredible last few years.’
A League Of Their Own is available to watch on Sky One.
