Love Island 2021 returned to our screens this evening and Piers Morgan wasted no time in hitting out at the series – and every single fan who tuned in on Monday night.
The presenter posted on Twitter about the show and questioned why people were chosing to watch the show, rather than tuning into the football.
France are currently taking on Switzerland over on ITV1, and Piers clearly things fans are wrong for choosing the dating show over the coverage of the Euros.
‘People are actually watching Love Island rather than the football tonight,’ Piers wrote. ‘I never want to meet those people.’
It was only a matter of time.
Meanwhile, the first couples of the new series of Love Island have been confirmed in Monday’s episode.
Fans were ecstatic to see the show return, with Laura Whitmore hosting the very first coupling ceremony of the show.
Liberty was paired with Jake, while Aaron and Shannon got together and Brad and Faye coupled up.

Hugo and Sharon were paired before Toby and Kaz ended up as a pair.
However, the islanders’ time in paradise is going to hit a massive road bump when Chloe Burrows makes her highly-anticipated arrival.
Elsewhere, former Love Island winner Amber Gill has hinted at 2021 contestant Brad McClelland’s history with a friend… and we are absolutely living for the drama.
Love Island returns tomorrow at 9pm on ITV2 and is available to watch on ITV Hub.
