Kaley Cuoco reveals Big Bang Theory fans almost always reference the same thing when they see her

Kaley Cuoco has revealed that almost every Big Bang Theory fan she meets has something in common, as they all greet her with the same line from the show.

To be fair, it’s an iconic one.

The Flight Attendant actress won fans as Penny, starring alongside Jim Parsons’ Sheldon Cooper and Johnny Galecki’s Leonard Hofstadter in the sitcom.

As it turns out, she can always see – and hear – Big Bang Theory fans coming.

‘I get a lot of people knocking at me. They’ll “Knock, knock, knock, Penny,” “Knock, knock, knock, Penny,’” multiple times,’ the star explained, referencing one of Sheldon’s recurring lines on the show.

‘In a store, on a plane, on my body, they love to knock at me, and they think it’s very funny,’ she added to The Hollywood Reporter.

Kaley also insisted that, despite completely changing gears with her show The Flight Attendant, which came after 12 seasons of The Big Bang Theory, she’s not trying to ‘get away’ from Penny.

‘I would’ve played Penny for 20 years,’ the 35-year-old said. ‘But I was nervous, wondering, like, am I going to be accepted, even by the business? Or are [people] going to be like, “Why is this sitcom girl trying to do this semi-serious show?”

‘And [then] it was like, where is the audience? Why isn’t anyone laughing? I need people just to clap for me 24/7.’

The Big Bang Theory ended in 2019 after 12 seasons, leaving fans heartbroken to say goodbye to the beloved sitcom.

However, Kaley recently gave us all a spark of hope, as she revealed that she’d be up for a reunion episode – so could our favourite nerds follow in the footsteps of the Friends cast?

‘I would definitely be open to some sort of reunion show. I can’t wait for the Friends one, and so I’m definitely open to doing one ourselves as well,’ she said.

But Kaley isn’t in any rush to step into her character’s shoes again, as
she thinks it’s too soon after the show ended.

‘It does still feel like yesterday that we wrapped. I think everyone is kind of trying out their new paths and seeing what their next project is, and I’m excited to see how everyone flourishes,’ she explained to E! News.

‘I think in a few years or whenever anyone’s open to it, I definitely will be down for that. It was a life-changing experience for all of us, and it’d be great to do that for the fans, too, because we had such an amazing fan base that stuck with us for so long.’

Girl, we’ll be waiting. Let’s hope it’s not 20 years away!

All episodes of The Big Bang Theory are available to stream on Netflix now.
